What: Triple Bill: Zero Carbon Home Building, Climate March – PLUS: Sustainability and the Upcoming Municipal Election

When: Monday, Oct 6th – Doors open at 6:45pm for a 7pm start

Where: The Branch Restaurant—Kemptville. All welcome.

To bring folks up to date on what been happening this summer – and to talk about ideas for the future – our next meeting is dedicated to three topics:

1. Zero Carbon Home Building
Local family Chris and Clare Weissflog have embarked on an incredible project to build a ‘zero carbon’ home.
“Built-in features will not only zero our home’s carbon footprint; they will produce energy for transportation and assist with production and storage of food. This home will not only allow us to live carbon-free, it also increases our resilience in a time of uncertain energy costs and availability.” Come our and learn more, as Chris and Clare share an update on their project.

2. Peoples’ Climate March
Hailed as the biggest event of its kind EVER, the Peoples’ Climate March last weekend in New York City had over 400,000 people show up – including a few from North Grenville. Come and see photos and hear from participants first hand about this event and its impact.

3. Sustainability and the Upcoming Municipal Election
Got a question you’d like to ask local candidates in advance of the upcoming election? Got some ideas on how to make North Grenville more sustainable? What ARE the questions we all need to be asking? Come out and share your ideas and questions. The election is on Oct 27th – with advance online/telephone voting starting at 10am, October 20th.

This event starts at 6:45pm, is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

The Branch restaurant is at 15 Clothier Street East in downtown Kemptville.
