The Future is here: Electric Car Show comes to Kemptville!

EV-PosterThe 8th Annual North Grenville Sustainability Fair & Market on Sunday, April 26th will see the return of the EVent: the Electric Vehicle event! It’s free to attend the Fair, Market and EV Show; a community event that offers something for everyone!

If you missed them last time you should definitely come and check out these electrifying rides! Over a dozen electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids from a number of manufacturers will be on display:  Chevrolet, Tesla, Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Smart.  See for yourself the high-tech features of these vehicles.

Owners will be onsite in the north side arena of the North Grenville Municipal Centre with their vehicles to show their cars, describe their experience of ownership, answer questions, and describe why their transportation needs are easily met with electricity, instead of fossil fuel.  Bring all of your questions!

The EV Show will also feature a presentation in two time slots: 11:00am and 1:00pm.  It will give an introduction to those curious about the vehicles or hoping to determine if an electric vehicle would be a good fit for their needs and lifestyle.  In addition, the costs of ownership will be compared with those same costs for more conventional vehicle choices.  See how going electric costs less than you think.  You’ll discover why it can cost less than choosing a lower priced gas-powered car.  Find out just how much money is saved when you don’t need to pay for gas, oil changes, exhaust systems, emission tests, tune ups, etc.

Sign up to take an electric vehicle for a test drive! Dealership sponsors of the EV Show will try to bring demonstration vehicles to the Fair for test drives (subject to availability).  Experience for yourself the quiet, powerful performance of these beautiful vehicles.  Sun Country Highway, a charging station company, will also be there to display their wares and show you the numerous stations available for use.

In a world where carbon emissions are top-of-mind for many of us, Ontario’s low carbon electrical generation provides a good potential reduction in transportation emissions by shifting to electric vehicles. Most EV’s are charged during off-peak hours when electricity prices are lowest and excess electricity is available.

Come and check out the Electric Vehicle Show at the 2015 North Grenville Sustainability Fair  & Market on Sunday, April 26th from 10am-2pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, 285 County Rd 44, Kemptville.  Bring the family for great hands-on activities, delicious food, local musical talent and market, artisan and business vendors. It’s free to attend so come out for an hour or stay for the entire show!
